In recent years, the Chinese government has paid significant attention to the development of information technologies, particularly AI, Big Data and IoT. The city of Guiyang, Guizhou Province, is considered China’s center for Big Data. From May 27 to 29, 2018, it hosted the third annual Big Data International Expo.

The event was organized with the support of China’s National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Big Data Expo is considered the world’s largest event in this field and attracts the attention not only of the general public but also of leading industry figures. This year’s speakers included Alibaba CEO Jack Ma, Qualcomm President Cristiano Amon, Baidu founder Robin Li, and others.

The Expo includes an innovation competition, a project exhibition and an entrepreneurs’ forum.

This year, Andrey Prokhorovich, CEO of Eurasia Development Limited (ED), and Toby Wang, the company’s CCO, took part in the event. ED presented four portfolio companies at the Expo and supported its partners.

Among the companies presented by ED were Hudway, named one of the ten breakthrough transportation projects of 2016 alongside Tesla; Armaks, a project developing Smart City solutions; RemedyWave; NPP, and others.
Technologies developed by Russian companies attracted the attention of exhibition visitors, media representatives and potential partners. Over the three days, preliminary negotiations were held on opportunities for further cooperation.

Representatives of Alibaba, Inspur and other market leaders expressed interest in cooperating with ED in the field of technology transfer.
