EXAMPLES OF ANALYTICAL RESEARCH
Industrial Decarbonization in China: Energy, Transportation and Steel Industries
The presentation provides a systematic analysis of China’s accelerated transition — as the world’s largest industrial cluster — toward carbon neutrality in line with the national targets of “peak emissions by 2030 / carbon neutrality by 2060.”

Three key technology areas are identified: the transition of steel production to electric arc furnaces, hydrogen-based DRI and CCUS, which could reduce industry emissions by 96% by 2050; the comprehensive transformation of the power system, under which the share of renewable energy increases sevenfold and reaches 80% by 2060; and the significant expansion of the green hydrogen and waste recycling markets, with the latter growing by 51% in 2018–2022.

The full report integrates these trends into a single strategic framework, covering regulatory mechanisms, investment priorities and statistical data.
New Energy: Analysis of China’s Low-Carbon Ammonia Market
The presentation analyzes the role of ammonia as a “carbon bridge” in China’s industrial policy: China accounted for 59.4 million tons of ammonia consumption in 2023, representing more than 20% of the global market.

Demand for ammonia in the energy and transportation sectors could exceed 10 million tons by 2030 and reach 130 million tons by 2050. China already has 90 green ammonia projects at various stages of development, concentrated primarily in Inner Mongolia.

The full report covers decarbonization scenarios, the project landscape, logistics constraints and opportunities for external suppliers.
China’s Experience in Developing the Steel Construction Market (ED jointly with the Association for Steel Construction Development)
China’s steel construction market is demonstrating rapid growth: in 2021, 740 million m² of floor space was completed, accounting for 24.5% of all new prefabricated construction projects, while steel structure output reached 104 million tons in 2022 and is expected to increase its share of total steel production from 10% to 15% by 2025.

Demand is concentrated in industrial construction (39%), public buildings (20%), bridges (12%) and residential construction (5%). It is supported by a multi-level policy framework: between 2010 and 2020, 443 regulations were adopted, 80% of which established the regulatory framework, while the remainder supported the supply chain and directly stimulated demand. Competition among provinces for investment and technological leadership further reinforces this trend.

The full report provides a detailed analysis of the value chain, provincial practices and recommendations for adapting Chinese policy instruments in Russia.
