“China has always been interested in Russian talent. At the same time, our scientists are reluctant to move to China. The reasons include a lack of understanding of the market, culture, food preferences and other factors. Scientists prefer to move to the West. Previously, Chinese companies had broad access to the talent markets of the United States, Israel and Europe, but this market is now shrinking due to geopolitical issues.”
Prokhorovich explained:
“Chinese companies are highly interested in our talent. They will establish R&D centers in Russia and employ their staff here. The multiplier effect will benefit the Russian economy, while the Chinese side may obtain intellectual property rights. Major Russian ecosystem and corporate players may feel uncomfortable because Chinese companies will ‘heat up the labor market.’”
He concluded:
“Such research and development centers can be established at universities, and Russian universities have an opportunity to promote this initiative in the Chinese market. They can adapt to the needs of Chinese companies in establishing R&D centers, recruiting talent and even training specialists.”
