ED Group Partners with Rosatom’s GIC 2022, Watched by More Than 1 Million People from 15 Countries

On December 1, marking the 15th anniversary of Rosatom State Corporation, more than 30 experts from 20 countries gathered at Global Impact Conference 2022 in Nizhny Novgorod to discuss challenges, trends and new opportunities in education in the years ahead.

The event brought together education experts from India, China, Russia, Türkiye, the UAE, Oman, Armenia, Kazakhstan, South Africa, Brazil, Vietnam, Egypt, as well as countries across Latin America and Africa.

Eurasia Development Group (ED) served as an official partner of the conference.

GIC 2022 was opened by Alexey Likhachev, Director General of Rosatom State Corporation.

Gleb Nikitin, Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, emphasized the significance of choosing Nizhny Novgorod as the host city for Global Impact Conference 2022.

Welcoming the conference participants, Rachid Aluach, Human Rights Officer of the Joint Programme of the Russian Federation and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, emphasized the importance of access to quality education.

“Today, quality education is a key issue because it is critical to building the future. There are 1.8 billion young people in the world — the largest number in human history,” he said.

As part of GIC 2022, members of Impact Team 2050, the Youth Advisory Council to the Director General of Rosatom State Corporation, presented the EducationX analytical report and participated in panel discussions as both speakers and moderators.

The international GIC 2022 conference was held at the new campus of Rosatom Corporate Academy — the Sakharov Mayak Academy.
